Nikko World Heritage 1 Day Tour 2012

Local travelers want to visit this beautiful site at least once in their lifetime! On this day trip to Nikko, one of Japan’s most beautiful regions, visit Nikko Toshogu Shrine, dedicated to the first shogun of the Tokugawa era and famous for its carving of the “hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil” monkeys. Travel up Irohazaka to Lake Chuzenji and marvel at Kegonnotaki Waterfall, considered one of the three most beautiful waterfalls in Japan.

Leave Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal aboard a deluxe motorcoach.

Nikko Toshogu Shrine
The highlight of this tour is world famous Toshogu Shrine, the mausoleum of the first Tokugawa Shogun. The complex features many interesting and colorful structures.

Lunch
Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch at a local restaurant.

Irohazaka Winding Road
Take a drive up a winding road with 20 hairpin curves.

Lake Chuzenji
Lake Chuzenji, at the foot of Mt. Nantai, is known for its depth; the deepest point measures 161.5 meters. *For departures between October 11-November 4, visits to Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Waterfall may be substituted to either of Rinnoji Taiyuin temple, Futarasan Shrine, Kirifuri-waterfall or Tamozawa family residence due to the heavy traffic jam at Iroha-zaka slope. This will be announced by the tour guide during the tour.

Kegon Falls
About 100m (351ft) in height, this is one of Japan's three finest waterfalls.

Irohazaka Winding Road
Take a drive down winding road with 28 hairpin curves. The roads going up and down the hill are different.

7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Tour disbands upon arrival in Ginza or Shinjuku. Tour participants return to their hotels or elsewhere on their own. Information on return transportation will be provided. For motorcoach tours, arrival in Tokyo may be delayed due to traffic conditions.
