Your baggage will be transported fromHakone to Kyoto on Day 5. Each person will be allowed one piece of baggage. For overnight stay in Takayama and Kanazawa, we recommend that you carry a light overnight bag. Additional baggage will require an extra fee of JPY 2,200 per item. Each person will be allowed one piece of baggage for seat sharing van from Kyoto to Kansai Airport. Additional baggage will require an extra fee of JPY 1,000 per item.

Day 1: Arrive at Tokyo
Arrive at Narita Airport in Tokyo. JTB staff will meet you at the exit of customs and assist you in boarding a reserved taxi. Transfer to hotel. Accommodation at hotel in Tokyo for 3 nights where you can choose from a selection of different hotels.

Day 2: Tokyo
Morning city tour in Tokyo. Visit Tokyo Tower Observatory, Imperial Palace Plaza, Sensoji Temple (Asakusa Kannon) and The Tasaki Pearl. Afternoon, free at leisure.

Day 3: Tokyo - Nikko - Tokyo
Full day excursion to Nikko by motor coach. Morning, visit Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Irohazaka zigzag driveway up to the mountains After Japanese-style lunch at local restaurant, visit Lake Chuzenji and KegonnoTaki Waterfall. Irohazaka zigzag driveway down the mountains and drive back to Tokyo. Tour disband on arrival at Ginza or Shinjuku between 19:00-20:00. No drop-off service provided.

Day 4: Tokyo - Mt. Fuji - Hakone
Deluxe motor coach to the foot of Mt.Fuji via expressway. Then drive halfway up Japan's highest mountain to enjoy a spectacular view from a height of 2,300 meters. Enjoy Japanese-style lunch. Afternoon, proceed to Hakone for a cruise on Lake Ashi (Ashinoko Yuransen) and Mt. Komagatake Ropeway. Accommodation at Hakone Hotel.

Day 5: Hakone - Takayama
Morning, drive to Odawara and board a Shinkansen for Nagoya. Transfer to a limited-express for Takayama, an ancient, tranquil city called "Little Kyoto". Afternoon, stroll through Takayama, visiting Yatai Kaikan Hall, where colorfully decorated traditional festival floats are displayed; Kusakabe Folkcraft Museum, formerly the residence of powerful merchants under government patronage; and the streets of Kami Sannomachi, which preserve traditional Japanese wooden houses. Accommodation at Takayama.

Day 6: Takayama - Shirakawago - Kanazawa
Visit the famous morning market of Takayama. Scenic drive by Lake Miboro and along Shokawa River to Shirakawago, designated in 1995 as part of the World Heritage. Its highlights are unique structures called Gassho-Zukuri, or joined-hands farmhouses. Then visit Gokayama, another World Heritage village, where you can experience making Gokayama Washi, traditional Japanese paper. Continue to Kanazawa. Accommodation at hotel in Kanazawa.

Day 7: Kanazawa - Kyoto
Morning sightseeing in Kanazawa, visiting Kenrokuen, one of Japan's three most beautiful traditional gardens; Kutaniyaki Pottery kiln; Higashi-chaya street and Farmer House "Shima" Afternoon, limited-express train to Kyoto. Arriving between 16:30-17:30. Accommodations at hotel in Kyoto.

One Way Trip Plan

Day 8: Kyoto
Full day sightseeing of Kyoto, visiting Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Nijo Castle, Kyoto Imperial Palace. After lunch at Handicraft Center, visiting Sanjusangendo, Heian Jingu Shrine, Kiyomizudera Temple. Accommodations at hotel in Kyoto.

Day 9: Kyoto - Kansai Airport
Free at leisure until departure. Departure time is announced to your hotel on the day before departure. Transfer to Kansai Airport by seat sharing van.

Round Trip Plan

Day 8: Kyoto - Tokyo
Full day sightseeing of Kyoto, visiting Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Nijo Castle, Kyoto Imperial Palace. After lunch at Handicraft Center, visiting Sanjusangendo, Heian Jingu Shrine, Kiyomizudera Temple. Return to Tokyo by Shinkansen in the evening. Accommodation at hotel in Tokyo between 21:00-22:00.

Day 9: Tokyo - Narita Airport
Free at leisure until departure. Departure time is announced to your hotel on the day before departure. A taxi driver will meet you at your hotel and take you to the airport.
