Which Japan Rail Pass Shall I Get?
The Japan Rail Pass comes in different varieties depending on the region you plan to use it in. The main JR Pass is valid over all of Japan, but if you plan to concentrate your trip in just one area, a regional pass may offer a better option for your travel arrangements. Check below to see all the different regions that the Japan Rail Pass is available for and choose the one that works best for you!
- Valid throughout all of Japan's JR network with no limitations
- Valid on all JR trains and buses, including Shinkansen trains
- 7, 14 and 21 day varieties available
- Valid on local trains operated by JR West in western Japan
- For use on local trains, not valid on Shinkansen Bullet Trains
- 1, 2, 3 or 4 day varieties available
- Valid on all trains operated by JR West in western Japan
- Includes all Shinkansen (Nozomi too) and the Miyajima ferry
- 4 or 8 day varieties available
- Valid on all transport operated by JR Hokkaido on Hokkaido
- Unlimited use of all train lines and the majority of JR buses
- 3 or 5 day varieties available
- Valid on all JR Kyushu trains including Tsubame Shinkansen
- All train lines included, but not valid on JR Kyushu buses
- 5 day variety available
Unfortunately, due to new rules and regulations with issuing the Japan Rail East Pass, we are no longer able to offer this pass for sale. However, the Japan Rail East Pass can now be purchased directly in Japan. You can do this very easily after arriving in Japan and visiting the Japan Rail Office at your arrival Airport.
