Can I use a JR Pass to travel to and from Narita Airport and what is the best route to take?
Yes, with no restrictions!
Once you have arrived at Narita Airport, there is still a small journey left to
reach the centre of Tokyo and if you validate your Japan Rail Pass immediately,
you can use it to travel this distance.
Narita Express
The best method for making this journey is to use what is called the Narita Express, a shuttle train service running from Narita Airport to the major stations in Tokyo on a regular schedule. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes and is the quickest route between the two areas. The Narita Express stops at a selection of stations including Tokyo, Shinagawa, Shinjuku and Ikebukuro so it is very convenient as it can take you to anywhere you need to. The following map shows the routes available from Narita Airport, but please note that only JR operated lines can be used with your Japan Rail Pass.
