    Coin lockers in stations

Are there lockers in train stations in Japan where we can store our bags for a few days at a time?

    Yes, at most major stations!

Most large stations will have a selection of different size coin lockers where you can store your luggage. The prices range from 300 yen to 600-700 yen for a day of use depending on the size. A 300 yen locker will easily hold a backpack and a jacket and I managed to fit two regular size suitcases inside the largest locker. There is no limit to how long you can use each locker, but be prepared to have a handful of 100 yen coins to pay for the locker when you wish to collect your baggage!
