    Public holiday train times

    Are the train times different for weekends and public holidays as there are no different times published in the timetable? I noticed that the 23rd November is Labour and Thanksgiving Day in Japan, does this affect anything?

    Japanese trains run everyday, no matter what!

    The trains in Japan do no stop for anything, which means that you can expect full service on bank holidays and weekends, and that even includes New Years day!

    Book early to guarantee availibility

    You may even find that there are more travel services running on public holidays as Japanese people tend not to stay at home on these days, so it may be worth booking in advance or checking whether your planned journey has availability!
